Airports & LAANC Zones

Restricted Airspace

• Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT) Class C airspace extends approximately 5 NM from the airport surface up to 4,000 feet AGL. Maumelle sits northwest of the Class C outer shelf, and drone operators flying southeast toward Little Rock should check LAANC availability. The Class C surface area does not directly cover Maumelle, but transit corridors along I-430 fall within the outer shelf region.
• Camp Robinson Army National Guard Base is approximately 6 NM east in North Little Rock with restricted airspace (R-2601 A/B/C/D) used for military training. TFRs may be issued during training exercises. Maumelle is close enough to Camp Robinson that operators should always check NOTAMs before flying east of the city, particularly near the Crystal Hill area.
• Little Rock Air Force Base is approximately 20 NM northeast in Jacksonville with military operating areas and TFR potential. While this does not directly cover Maumelle, operators flying northeast along the Highway 107 corridor should check for active military training routes.
• The Arkansas River borders Maumelle to the south and east, with levee systems managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. Commercial drone operations near flood control structures, levees, and the Murray Lock and Dam require coordination with the Corps. The river corridor is also used by crop dusters and low-altitude agricultural aircraft during growing seasons.
• Murray Park and the Maumelle River Trail system along the Arkansas River are managed by the City of Maumelle Parks and Recreation Department. Commercial drone takeoff and landing on city-owned parkland requires prior authorization from the Parks Department.
